Tadeusz Kosciuszko is certainly one of the most recognizable Poles in the western world. If you don’t know him or don’t know why you’d suppose to know him – check here. Somehow I never noticed this monument. I did not think even if there is any Kosciuszko’s monument in Poznan. There is a street of his name – even quite important one. When I finally „discovered” this monument was surprised by its form. Kosciuszko (usually shown in poses of valor) looks here like singing… or „girly” impressed. These birds do not add dignity as well. But I think It’s better that way – ss a result, although on a pedestal, he seems much more closer.
