Choć most Brookliński jest jednym z najbardziej rozpoznawalnych miejsc w Nowym Jorku, to wejście na niego na Manhattanie zdecydowanie mnie zaskoczyło… Zupełnie nieoznakowane, wśród rozgrzebanych robót drogowych, a schody prowadzące na most po prostu służą za toaletę… Mało zachęcający początek, ale na samym moście, oprócz tłumu turystów, niezapomniane wrażenia. Jest w tym miejscu coś mistycznego, jakby jeszcze oddychało XIX-wieczną historią. Zdecydowanie warto przejść cały most i najlepiej zrobić to w czasie zachodu słońca.
Most Brookliński to jeden z najstarszych mostów wiszących na świecie o długości: 1834 m. Łączy nowojorskie dzielnice Brooklyn i Manhattan, które oddziela od siebie East River. Budowę mostu ukończono w 1883.
Although the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the most famous places in New York City, the entrance to the bridge (on the Manhattan side) suprised me a lot.. No signs, in between the road works, and the staircase leading to the bridge seems to serve as a toilet… This uninviting beginning should not discourage you. The bridge itself is amazing and worth the trip. Just don’t mind the tourists.. Plenty of them. There is soemthing mystical in this place, almost making it feel like we were back in the XIXth century, Have a great walk along the bridge – and if you can sunset time.
The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspended bridges in the world with the lengh of 1834 meters. It connects, over the East River, Brooklyn and Manhattan. The construction finished in 1883.
